About the Institute
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), founded in May 1974, was Asia's first open university and remains one of the largest distance-education institutions in the world, with over a million students enrolled from matriculation through doctoral level. It is headquartered in Sector H-8, Islamabad, and operates 44 regional campuses across Pakistan.
