About the Institute
British Council Pakistan is the official branch of the British Council, the United Kingdom's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, founded in the UK in 1934 and governed by Royal Charter. It has operated in Pakistan since 1948, running English-language teaching, IELTS and other exam services, arts programmes, and education/study-UK guidance from offices in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with a focus on young people aged 12-30.
