About the Institute
Emerson University Multan traces its roots to Government College Multan, founded in 1920, which was renamed Government Emerson College in 1933 in honor of Sir Herbert William Emerson, then Governor of Punjab. It was reconstituted as a chartered public university in 2021 under an Act of the Punjab Assembly, and now offers undergraduate and graduate programs across multiple disciplines.
