Government College for Commerce & Economics

Government College of Commerce & Economics was founded on 22 June 1945 as the Basant Singh Asumal College of Commerce & Economics and was taken over by the Government of Sindh in 1948. Located on Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road opposite Bagh-e-Jinnah, its current building dates to 1967. It was co-educational until 1993, when it split into separate girls' and boys' sections, and is affiliated with the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) for intermediate studies and the University of Karachi for degree programs, serving around 4,000 students.
