About the Institute
Originally founded as a primary school in 1897, the institution was promoted to a high school in 1905 and an intermediate college in 1924, elevated to degree level in 1933, granted autonomous status in 1990, and chartered as a public university in 2002. It now offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs across sciences, arts and commerce.
