About the Institute
Established in 1912 as Khalsa High School Gujranwala and upgraded to college status in 1918 as Guru Nanak Khalsa College. Renamed Islamia College in 1947, nationalized in 1972, and upgraded to postgraduate level in 1990 as Government Post Graduate Islamia College Gujranwala. This is the postgraduate designation of the same historic institution as Government Islamia College, Gujranwala.
