About the Institute
Government Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College was originally established in 1933 in Amritsar by the Anjuman-e-Islamia, with Professor S. Mercado as first principal, and relocated to Lahore in 1947 after Partition, housed in the former Sanatan Dharma College premises adjacent to the Civil Secretariat. It offers over 20 undergraduate degree programs; intermediate-level classes are boys-only, while undergraduate and postgraduate programs are co-educational. Notable alumni include cricketers Saeed Ajmal and Saqlain Mushtaq, and politician Khawaja Saad Rafique.
