About the Institute
Karakoram International University (KIU) is a public sector university in Gilgit, established in 2002 under a federal charter to expand access to higher education in Gilgit-Baltistan. It enrolls over 7,000 students and maintains satellite campuses in Hunza, Ghizer, and Chilas, with the President of Pakistan serving as Chancellor.
